Studying in Barcelona has been a great experience so far. It is very different from what I imagined it to be. Of course there is a great social life to see but by talking about our experiences with friends that are in the same program, I know that our perspective has changed quite a bit since we arrived.

In the mid-November meeting of the ASUCM Senate, a bill brought to the table many weeks prior was the subject of much debate.

Theodore Roosevelt once said, “I do not pity a man doing hard work worth doing. I admire him.”

It seems that Roosevelt’s words carry great credence even today, but sometimes even the best of efforts do not result in success.

Many of you might not be aware that when you study abroad, you are likely to have one or two vacation breaks during the semester. Breaks give students an opportunity to travel, and instructors time to organize themselves. The program encourages students to explore foreign countries and cultures that they would not otherwise be exposed to back home. The minute I became aware of these breaks, I decided to get together with my roommates and plan a trip for our week long vacation away from Rome where we have been studying.

This Means Waris an upbeat flick torn between too many genres to count.  The super-bright color palette is designed for high spirits.  The film spotlights the best of buddy pictures, romantic comedies, spy capers and what girls talk about when they think you aren’t listening.  Somehow, despite the all-over-the-place assembly, director McG makes it work, and manages to use the haphazardness of the script to his advantage.

American democracy is dead.

American democracy is dead.

Consider the Citizen's United Supreme Court ruling, which grants to the immortal, sociopathic, pathological and tyrannical entities-- also known as corporations-- the right of “free speech” as is granted to mortal persons of flesh and blood.
