The Class of 2012 has raised approximately $13,000. This sum includes approximately $8,000 raised by the class and a matching gift of $5,000 from the Westly Foundation.

After completing a survey with options for a Class Gift, the majority of students from the Class of 2012 selected to have their class gift be to fix the WiFi.

“42” looked promising despite the idea of it being yet another inspirational baseball movie

On April 6, UC Merced’s recreation and athletics department hosted its sixth annual Cat Trails 5K race. The race was open to university students, faculty and the community.

Kudos is given to the wooden pig that adorns The Barbeque Pit in downtown Merced for being so adorable and unfailing. Apparently, he has stood watch over the business at 1720 G St. for many decades. The menu bills him as one of Merced’s favorite landmarks, so, of course, I had to rub his tummy for good luck.

Although this film was far from my first choice of movies to view and write about, a part of me had hoped that I would be pleasantly surprised.  Naturally, anything attached to the Tyler Perry name is bound to have some success. Temptation had a few better moments, but ultimately was dragged down by every other aspect.

This new collaboration will provide new opportunities and resources for students and faculty at UC Merced. Additionally, it also demonstrates UCM’s growing prestige across the US.
